THE SWAGGER: Make conservation a resolution in 2026!

Sustainability Report 2025: The “A” in SWAG stands for “Action”!
SWAG focused on 2 areas for action in 2025: (i) Life on Land (Goal 15 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals) and (Il) Climate Action (Goal 13).
(I) Life on Land - key achievements:
Malaysian Conservation Collective (MyCC) Trek for Tigers (from Aug 2025): organised 3 groups with 18 volunteers for anti-poaching surveillance walks.
Fundraising: contributed over SG$43,000 toward wildcat conservations efforts.
Local wildcat: initiated the ongoing survey of leopard cat presence at Changi with NParks.

Advocacy: supported efforts to combat illegal wildlife trafficking by engaging local nature organisations, fundraising for the TRAFFIC Southeast Asia’s Protecting Wildcats from Trade & Trafficking (PACT) programme, and raising awareness over various media platforms. (PACT update, 5 February 2026: Malaysian prosecutors won a guilty verdict for an illegally owned tiger skin; the judge “acknowledged the tiger's circumstance as a silent victim“.)
(II) Climate Action - highlights:
Emissions: total emissions were just over 6,026kg, largely associated with Trek for Tigers activities and organisation/support activities in the Korbu Forest Reserve area.
Offsetting: planted 75 trees in Malaysia. Total carbon sequestered from continuing growth of trees planted since 2020 up to and including 2025 was 7,834 kilograms.
SWAG works to “operationalise green” in our procurement and operational processes. Though logistic challenges may result in our activities incurring higher emissions in 2026, we are committed to managing and offsetting our carbon footprint. Read SWAG’s full sustainability report here.

ADVENTURES WITH BIG & LITTLE CATS!
Trek for Tigers
MyCC’s Trek for Tigers is a 3-day citizen conservation programme that takes volunteers on anti-poaching surveillance forest walks and habitat restoration at the Sungai Yu Ecological Corridor in Merapoh, Pahang. See the provisional itinerary and additional optional activities in our December 2025 newsletter.

The cost for a standard 3D2N Trek for Tigers programme is RM1,400 per person. Trek for Tigers’ repeaters and students enjoy a 25% discount: RM1,050. Meals, transportation cost between Merapoh and Singapore, and optional activities are not included.

To book your spot in the programme or request for more information, email MyCC at comms@mycc-conservation.com or SWAG at admin@swagcat.org. Whilst MyCC organises the Trek for Tigers programme, SWAG is a project partner and holds pre-trip briefings for citizen conservationists embarking on Trek for Tigers.
